Artist Blanchart was born in Madrid in 1971. In Barcelona, he studied illustration at the School of Applied Arts and Crafts (Llotja), the same school where Dali and Picasso studied. There he encountered great names like Xavier Canals and Toni Miró, becoming the professional artist he is today. His passion began on the pages of comics and was later confirmed through new artistic disciplines such as painting, graffiti, and photography. Heterogeneous, the design of his work is inspired by photographers Robert Capa and Cartier-Bresson, artists Vicente Segrelles, Mike Mignola, painters William Turner, Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollock, or even Franz Kline to cite more recent references. In this other facet of his work, which is graffiti, Blanchart allows himself to be influenced voluntarily by Obey, Suso 33 Blu, or even Banksy. But always, the artist’s career is more personal, daring, intense.
The works attest to the mastery of the artist who plays with colors, shadows, light, lines, deliberately stepping off the beaten paths. The mixed technique of stencil, acrylic, and graffiti prints this originality where creativity, emotions, and certain aplomb mix: a surprising, detailed blend in the force of a new artistic expression.
The graffiti artistic universe is a vibrant and diverse space, where the street becomes a blank canvas to express ideas, emotions, and messages. Beyond visual aesthetics, graffiti has a deep connection with urban culture, serving as a means of protest, identity, and claim. In its origins, graffiti was a form of resistance and visibility for marginalized communities, but today it has evolved, integrating into contemporary art, design, and fashion. Graffiti artists not only play with colors and shapes but also engage with the urban environment, transforming walls into visual narratives full of meaning and history.
Nowadays, searching through what many consider dirt, I discover the embryo of a new concept. On the walls of Barcelona, I try to break the boundaries of street art, sometimes collaborating with galleries and other artist groups. Through social media, I have managed to take my work beyond borders, selling my works in countries like Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and many more. This visibility, which once seemed unattainable, has been made possible thanks to digital platforms.
